alq3.f's Coding Projects

Website Updates

Update 14/12/21

A knitting gauge calculator. This is not an art project, but a practical tool. I made this whole project in only a few hours, which is a pleasant surprise. I thought it would have taken a few days. Includes an explanation of the math.

Update 12/4/21

Animated Fibonacci spiral written in #javascript using #p5js library. The code for this project is really messy, but it's also one of the most succinct I've written. πŸ‘©β€πŸ’»

Update 28/5/21

Added the source code for this project on GitHub! Link is in the link above.

Update 10/4/21

This one is pretty straightforward. It's a program that randomly generates a plaid/tartan pattern. If you are using a desktop browser, you can save the randomly generated images! Enjoy!

Update 21/2/21

This code was not as successful as rainbowTrail, as it does not do what I intended it to do. But we must move on, so I will post it anyway. I wanted the dots to generate continually without stopping, and I suppose I could eventually get there if I worked on this a little longer. The idea behind this was to simulate how the effect of gravity becomes stronger as two objects come closer together.

Ladies, gentlemen, and all lovely people, I present to you my first p5.js project and my first hosted website.

I have been wanting to branch out of Processing for a while. This was meant to be an easy project, but it’s been so long since I worked in Javascript that I forgot how different it truly was from Java, and this project took me almost a week! 😱 I learned a lot of new things in the process, such as writing (copy and pasting) my first line of Python code, writing my first lines of CSS, and hosting a website from scratch on Neocities. You can find the link to my website in my Instagram bio. In fact, if you look at my project on my website, you will find that the rainbow trail takes a different path each time you reload the page! 🌈

This is one of the projects I created in collaboration with a partner while in college, 2019. It is a puzzle game created in PuzzleScript about a girl chasing her unleashed dog through the woods.

Daylight Saving

This is one of the projects I created in collaboration with a partner while in college, 2019. It is a sidescroller platformer game prototype created in Pico-8 about a vampire who woke up in the middle of the day and must obtain sleeping potion from his local witch before he dies from sunlight. I mainly did the artwork and the coding while my partner made the soundtrack and some background art.
